What kind of Christmas gifts can the kids in my class make for their parents?
We would like some ideas on kinds of Christmas gifts we can “make” for the children’s parents ages 1st- 5th grade…please be specific about your ideas….thank you.

My daughters class is making calendars. The calendars decorations are all made from their handprints. LIke for a pumpkin we did just their palm and a thumbprint for the stem. For a Turkey we did their palm brown and then each finger a different color~pinky print for the waddle. You get the idea. be creative!!!
Buy a great big sack of canceled postage stamps, the kind from all over the world and have each child bring in a clean,dry can….preferably from a can of soup or any thing of a similar size. Have the kids glue the stamps to the cans collage-style until it is completely covered. Once dry, brush on a thin coat of glue to seal it and you have a perfect pen and pencil holder for the computer desk. My 5th grade teacher had us make these and they turned out well and my mom had hers for years.

You could have each child make his/her hand print in clay and have them sign and date it or you could use paint and they could imprint it on card stock and make up a phrase then frame it either handmade or you could purchase inexpensive frames at a thrift store–lots cheaper than department stores. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
You could make ornaments out of air dry clay. Roll the clay with a rolling pin and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and poke a hole at the top. There’s no baking required and it can be painted.
a beaded snowflake like the kind you put on Christmas trees, that wouldn’t be pc if you’re a public school teacher of course, so just attach it to a long piece of organza ribbon and say it’s to hang on the rear view mirror. it’s winter-y, not (God/Allah/Pagan Goddess forbid) Christmas-y.
have them make a frame out of popsicle sticks decorated with beads, ribbon scraps, buttons, etc. make sure you ask the parents to send in a recent wallet or other size pic of the child for a project.
